Friday belongs almost entirely to Morbid Angel. After a single Cannibal Corpse track in the afternoon, the last echo of yesterday's death metal marathon, the night narrows hard: two of the band's albums played nearly whole, back to back. First the whole of Domination, their groovier and most mid-paced record from 1995, then most of 1991's Blessed Are the Sick, where Trey Azagthoth wired Lovecraft and ancient Sumerian myth into the genre he helped invent. Where yesterday toured all of death metal at once, tonight he picks one of its founders and stays put, an hour and a half inside a single band's cosmology of doom and old gods. It ends near half eleven, deep in the oldest and most ceremonial corner of the form.
