Monday picks up exactly where yesterday left off. It opens in the afternoon with the whole of Blood Incantation's Absolute Elsewhere, the 2024 cosmic death metal record whose name he traced to its 1976 source only the night before, two long suites of Stargates and Messages, ancient astronauts set to riffs and analog synth. The loop that has been forming for weeks finally closes on itself, the modern namesake and the krautrock original filed a day apart. Then, after a seven-hour gap, the day changes bodies entirely. Late at night he swaps the cosmos for the mosh pit, an hour of melodic and post-hardcore played loud and young: Stick To Your Guns and Alexisonfire, a run of Enter Shikari's political anthems, and, closing it, Refused's New Noise and At the Drive-In, the same firebrands who tore through the record on the last day of July. From ancient gods to the barricade in a single evening, the two halves sharing nothing but volume.
